All-In-One Sliders

This recipe is one which, if done right, will feed at least six people. Ingredients you need for this are:

One dozen butter pan buns (the type that are baked all together in one pan.

1 lb. lean ground beef
Garlic powder, salt, pepper and basil to taste
1/2 cup bread crumbs (I use the Panko-style)
1 egg, beaten
6 – 8 cheddar cheese slices
Melted butter with garlic and parsley flakes

Preheat the oven to 350°. Mix together the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, pepper, basil, bread crumbs and the beaten egg. Form into a large rectangular patty approximately the same size at the buns. Place in a rectangular pan and cook in the oven until done. Drain any fat and let stand for 10 minutes.

While the meat is cooking, take the buns and cut them in half on the horizontal (between the top and bottom), but don’t separate them from each other. Lay them flat with the cut sides up. Cover them with your choice of condiments (mustard, mayo, relish, hot peppers, etc.). When the meat has cooled for 10 minutes, place it on top of the bottom half of the buns, cover with the slices of cheese and the top half of the buns.

Brush the whole thing with the garlic butter, place in the oven for 25 minutes or until a golden brown on top. Remove from the oven and cut between the buns vertically to produce the sliders. Enjoy.
